On Terrorism

I was one of the first to publicly speak out against this thinly veiled attempt to tear the world apart at the seams. Despite their glossy image in films like Die Hard and Die Hard 3, terrorists are very real, very dangerous creatures.

Having been alive during the attacks on September 11th, 2001, I feel I have a unique edge on my future Presidential rivals, for one can easily assume, not yet knowing who they are, that they were too aloof during the period in which our country felt its most vulnerable.

Though we were all hit with the same rush of emotion that day, my future competitors will likely not have understood what those moments meant to the country, to the way we approached life. Little will they remember the incidents that marked the following years, such as Toby Keith’s “Courtesy of the Red White and Blue” hitting the charts.

It seems to me that with such a limited understanding of the world at large, these future Presidential hopefuls will little understand what I will surely have learned about National Security at this point. Surely, no one will have planned for the very real Space-Laser Incident of 2017. But I will have told them, indeed, though little are they likely to listen or, in hindsight, recognize my contributions.
